As we approach the coldest and most festive time of the year, the last thing anyone needs is a frozen or burst pipe. Prevention is always better than a cure so follow a few simple steps and avoid any hassles!
• Keep the heating on during really cold periods and take extra care if you know you’ll be out or away.
• Perhaps set a timer and remember to maintain some warmth during the night.
• Even the best insulation won’t stop pipes from freezing when frosty conditions won’t let up. So during a really frosty period isolate and drain down external pipework, outside taps, and exposed plumbing. Once you’ve protected your home from frost make a nice cuppa in the knowledge you can stay chilled out when Jack Frost bites!
